Joan (Johnson) Thurby

GLASGOW –  Joan (Johnson) Thurby, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky. She was born in Sweeden, Kentucky, and a daughter to the late Walter Howard and Mable Lorene (Gipson) Johnson.

She is survived by her daughter, Cassie Davis of Cave City; five grandchildren, Caleb Tate, M’Kyia Davis, Amani Driver, Josiah Driver, and LaDeja Driver; three siblings, Julie Casey, Ronald “Ronnie” Johnson, and Troy Gipson; nieces and nephews, Jeremy Mikesell, and Taylor Garvin, Jonathon & Jerrad Filback, and Gavin & Miaya Smith also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Thurby; and her siblings, John Johnson, Marcia Filback, and Donnie Steven Johnson.

In honoring Joan’s wishes, cremation was chosen by the family, with no services scheduled at this time.
