Sadie Eva Brundage

SUMMER SHADE – Sadie Eva Brundage, 91, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Monroe County Medical Center. Sadie was born December 1, 1933, in Aiken, South Carolina to the late Randolph and Eva Binecker McClain. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Nelson Brundage; son, Ricky Hodson; sister,r Ruby Ready (Bigon); brothers, David McClain, Oscar McClain, Randolph Junior McClain, Charles McClain, Grady McClain, and Russel McClain (Glenda).

Sadie was a loving, caring, and generous person to anyone she came in contact with. She was a loving mother to her own children as well as anyone that needed a mother. She always tried to make sure everyone she met had something to eat or drink. She had many friends and family. Sadie faithfully devoted her life to God and her Bible.

She is survived by her son, James (Melinda) Brundage of Summer Shade; daughter, Teresa Taylor; sister-in-law, Gail McClain Covar; sister-in-law, Jackie McClain; granddaughter, Cheyenne N. Brundage (Tyler Hall); granddaughter, Kimberly N. Taylor (Robert McClain); grandson, Will Bates (Angela); grandson, Shane Hodson; grandson, Taylor Hodson; grandson, Cody Stone; grandson, Skyler Stone (Kylie); granddaughter, Emily Combee (Jayden); granddaughter, Isabelle Stone; grandson, Elmer Strickland; grandson, James Strickland; and grandson, Jonathan Strickland. She is also survived by several great-grands, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial dinner and remembrance will be scheduled at a later date. She donated her body to science (University of Kentucky Medical College) with hopes that studying her illnesses (cancer, heart disease) will someday help someone in the future.
