Lester Earl “Les” Carney

CAVE CITY – Lester Earl “Les” Carney, age 57, departed this life on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, with his family by his side. The Barren County native was born on May 26, 1967, to the late Ralph Carney and Louetta Toohey Reynolds, of Cave City. He was married to his wife Karen Ann Carney, who also survives.

Les was a civil engineer, a 1985 graduate of Caverna High School, and was the owner of Icy Heights Gun Range. He enjoyed scuba diving, woodworking, and spelunking. He was a member of Highland United Methodist Church and Bear Wallow Cave City Masonic Lodge #231 F&AM.

Besides his wife and mother, Karen and Louetta, he leaves to honor his memory– two stepsons, McCall and Sawyer Dillon both of Cincinnati, OH. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Ira and Alice Toohey, and Lester and Violet Carney.

Interment will be in Cave City Cemetery.
