Cave City approves FY 24-25 Budget

The City Council for the City of Cave City met in special session on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
Council members Beverly Ford, Denny Doyle, Brandon Wright, Clifton Parsley, and Peggy Pippin were in attendance, as well as Mayor Dwayne Hatcher.
On the agenda were two orders of business; a second reading of Ordinance 24-24-6A – Amending the 23-24 Budget, as well as a second reading of Ordinance 24-24-6B – Adopting 24-25 Budget.
Ordinance 24-24-6A is in regards to amending the annual budget for the Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2023, and ending June 30, 2024, by estimating revenues and appropriation.
Ordinance 24-24-6B is in regards to adopting the annual budget for the Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2025, by estimating revenues and appropriation.
Documents show for the Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2025, fund balance carried forward is $940,407 in the General Fund and $111,820 in the Cemetery Fund.
Total estimated revenues are expected to be $2,363,735 for the General Fund, and $91,756 for Road Aid LGEA. The same funds are anticipated to be available for appropriation. Cemetery funds are specifically designated towards the Cave City Cemetery only.
Both readings were unanimously approved.
