Multiple Agencies Respond to Field Fire

Seventeen different fire departments and agencies responded to a field fire along Love Knob Road on June 25 where around 50 acres of land burned. The 911 call came at 10:51 a.m. and units were on the scene until almost 2:00 p.m. extinguishing the flames.
The cause of the fire is unknown, according to Marcus Thurman, Deputy Director of Glasgow/Barren Emergency Management.
No injuries to civilians or responders were reported.
The following volunteer fire departments responded to the fire: East Barren, Temple Hill, Hiseville, Cave City, Park City, Austin Tracy, Haywood, South Barren, North Metcalfe, Edmonton/Metcalfe, and Summer Shade.
Additional agencies also responded including Glasgow Fire Department, Barren-Metcalfe EMS, Glasgow/Barren Emergency Management, Barren County Sheriff’s Office, Metcalfe County Emergency Management, and Kentucky Division of Forestry.
