The 1st Annual Paws Paws Masquerade Ball was held at the Old School Gym as a way to raise money for the Metcalfe County Animal Shelter. The attendees enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Stacy B’s BBQ along with strawberry cheesecake made by Shana Word and listened to music by Little David and Bad Country, open mike karaoke, and at the end of the night, a live auction of donated items was held.
Donna Lafever was honored for the endless love she gives the dogs at the shelter and her dedication to saving them. Donna has a way with the dogs brought to the shelter and does her very best to show each and everyone how much she cares for them.

The Edmonton-Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce Vice President, Gina Gibson presented Donna with the well-deserved Achilles Award followed by Anne Devore Birge, Masquerade Ball Committee member presenting Donna with a gift and plaque of appreciation for all she does for the Metcalfe County Animal Shelter.
Donna is not one to seek the limelight or attention. She does these many things without expecting to receive gratitude; however, she became very emotional for being recognized and honored.
Thank you, Donna, for all you do.
Judge/Executive, Larry Wilson acknowledged Mrs. Faye Word as coming to him with the idea of having the Masquerade Ball to benefit the Animal Shelter. She then put together the very talented people on the committee who worked hard and brought the idea to life.
The Masquerade Committee members are Shana Word, Faye Word, J/E Larry Wilson, Anne Devore-Birge, Amy Wilson, Brandy Morgan, Tina Combs, and Kayla Blythe Jessee.
Thank you to everyone who donated auction items or made monetary gifts to make the 1st Annual Paws Paws Masquerade Ball a success. The evening raised $4,001 for the Metcalfe County Animal Shelter.
