Patty Cooney Poynter

PARK CITY – Patty Cooney Poynter, age 70, departed this life  on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. The Beech Grove, Indiana native was born on February 3, 1954, to the late Raymond and Hazel Cooney. She was married to Danny Poynter, who survives.

Patty graduated from Our Lady of Grace Academy Schools. She worked throughout her life as a banker for INB, registration clerk for Indianapolis Methodist Hospital, and a medical secretary for Dr. Steven James.

Besides her husband, Danny, she leaves to honor her memory– her son, Kelly Ray Poynter  (Jana) of Munfordville; grandchildren, Noah Poynter, Jake Poynter, and Raylee Poynter; brother, Mike Cooney (Carol); special friends, Rodney and Tammy Good and Deric and Connie Childress; along with several brothers and sisters-in-law; nephews and nieces. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Cooney.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
