James Arther Adams

GLASGOW – James Arthur Adams, age 60, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family on Friday, April 26, 2024. James was born on June 4, 1963, to the late Arthur Adams and the late Edith Meeks Walthal. James spent his career working at Country Oven Bakery where he retired. He was a proud member of the Austin Masonic Lodge # 847. James loved a good cookout, horseback riding, carving, wooden spoons, camping, hunting, fishing, playing music, and just hanging out with friends and family.

James is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Mandy Adams; three sons, James Anthony Adams (Valerie), James Derek Adams (Kali), Justin Blane Adams (Kristin); a nephew he loved as a son, Jon Washer (Mandi); grandchildren, Tyler Adams (Rachel), Kenzie Adams, Kole Adams, Karissa Adams, Aden Adams, Adysen Adams, Jayden Adams; sisters, Gleda Temples (Larry), Jeanie Adams, Claire Adams; half-sister, Carmen Hodge; step sisters, Jerry Purkerson, Lora Brumley (Rob); and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, George Washer.

The funeral service for Mr. Adams will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Martinsville Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
